I was created
for the purpose
to protect
people's privacy
I am an homage
to the seclusion
of our consumerism
and my name is
"do not disturb."
Hung on their door
they shall not be
bothered
for as I'm around
words are stronger
than actions
I am the bouncer
the warder
the beware sign
but my name is
"do not disturb."
my job is simple
keep the stress
of the world
from passing
through me
while my friend
will stay away
from the grime
and darkness
as long as my name is
"do not disturb."
I keep his secrets
beyond the grave
his interests
and hobbies
I will never
tell to
another soul
I have them vaulted
in my name
as long as my name is
"do not disturb."
he needs me
when they hurt him
I fence his stressful
life far away from
him, his castle
will comfort him
his luxuries befit him
I destroy his enemies
whenever they come near
they shall fear the name
"do not disturb."
the louder
they scream
the quieter i make
them become
he hears peace
inside his home only
and I absorb his shame
and his loneliness
I will become his hero
they will know the name
"do not disturb."
even if he
grows old of the
solitude I made him
warm in, I will
still be here
waiting for his
embrace
I will always
forgive him
I will make sure that I
do not disturb.
after all
the abandonment
of his sheltered
life I still
anticipate the day
he'll need me again
when he returns
I'll be stronger than
ever before and I'll
always make sure that I
do not disturb.
I'll never disturb you.
It's your writing. Please don't apologize - i was just voicing an opinion! I could be wrong
and his loneliness
I will become his hero

That stands out to me a little, because everything else was about the guy being lonely and the shield being a noble protector but then suddenly the sign helps hide a dark shame and secret? It feels a little jarring. Like a switch from a noble guardian in a doorway to a devious campaign of lies. See what I mean?

The ending line is a nice touch.
It makes for a very unique and quirky piece, with a powerful message, an underlying message that's merged with the Western world like a parasite with its host.
and I'll try to get to as many as I can XD
